Dear Friends of UMass Ice Hockey;

            The Mass Attack is back in action and everyone within our Hockey operation is excited to get going with our season.  There is no doubt that there are major challenges staring us right in the face.  After having survived “opening night” with a good win over RPI, we look immediately to Boston University, last season’s best team, this Friday evening here at the Mullins Center.  Although Friday will not settle anything so early in the season, it will give us a barometer of where we are right now, and the two points always matter!

            As many of you have heard me say of late, “I like the make-up of our team”, we have excellent leadership with Brett Watson, Justin Braun, Marty Nolet, and James Marcou leading the way, on and off the ice.  This is an essential piece to the “puzzle” of becoming a great Hockey East team.  We have talent too, but you cannot separate mentality from talent at the end of a season at our level, for sure. 

            As our team embarks on another season, hopefully a special season, I need everyone possible to consider supporting us in every way they can this year.  Anyone willing to increase their involvement with our team can expect that I will give them personal attention. 

            We have upgraded so many facets of our operation in the last five years; it would be difficult for me to list every change.  However, something that everyone might relate to is our “Locker-room Suite”.  We think it ranks up there with the best in any location. This was made possible through the support of our “Pond Club” members.  So I ask you to join our “Pond Club” and give our student-athletes the chance to sustain our program into the future.  The BU’s, BC’s, and UNH’s of the world are not waiting around for us to catch up with them; we need to do this for ourselves.  In order for this to happen, I respectfully ask anyone whom has enjoyed our growth and development to help us grow into the future with the certainty that our athletes are hoping for today. 

            Anyone willing to help out can expect me to get this team to participate publicly in giving back to as many people as we possibly can in the future.  Please look at the options available to you in joining our “Pond Club” and consider joining this year.  We need you like never before!

Dear UMass Hockey Fan,
The 2009/2010 Hockey season is underway and we’re looking forward to a very exciting season.

The Pond Club is in full swing and preparing for another great year.  As always, The Pond Club will be your host for between period refreshments in the Massachusetts Room (snacks, soda, coffee, water, and a cash bar for beer and wine) during every home game.  We will also be planning selected away game functions when the team is on the road.
The Pond Club serves as the fund raising arm of the hockey program and all of the proceeds of the Pond Club go directly back to the hockey team.  These funds contribute greatly to allowing the team to have necessities for running the program that are not covered in the budget.

If you have been a Pond Club member please use this time before the season starts to renew your membership.  If you have not been a Pond Club member please consider joining The Pond Club and be a part of the premier support arm of UMass Hockey.

Friends Group Membership – With the Friends Group membership you are entitled to:

1. Access to the Massachusetts Room for you and a guest during all home games
2. An invitation to all Pond Club functions including the Annual Reverse Raffle and the Annual Golf Outing.

Blue Line Membership- With the Blue Line membership you are entitled to:

1. Access to the Massachusetts Room for you and a guest during all home games
2. A UMass Hockey Gift
3. A ticket to the UMass Hockey banquet at the end of the season
4. An invitation to all Pond Club functions including the Annual Reverse Raffle and the Annual Golf Outing.

Center Ice Membership – With the Center Ice membership you are entitled to:

1. A dinner hosted by Coach Cahoon at his house
2. Selected pre-game receptions
3. Selected Mullins Center parking
4. Access to the Massachusetts Room for you and a guest during all home games
5. A UMass Hockey Gift
6. A ticket to the UMass Hockey banquet at the end of the season
7. An invitation to all Pond Club functions including the Annual Reverse Raffle and the Annual Golf Outing.

Please note that all membership levels include access to the Massachusetts Room between periods at all home games.  This access is for a member and one guest.  Without exception, there is $10.00 guest charge for each additional guest that a member invites to the Massachusetts room.  Also, for Massachusetts Room entry you must show your membership card before entering the Massachusetts Room.
